In 2000, we created and opened our very own Indoor Soccer
Facility which is located in Fall River on the 4th
floor of an old factory. The facility was originally created
because our Spring Travel Teams needed to train/practice
during the winter to get ready for the competitive spring
season and based on the limited number of indoor soccer
facilities in the area, we simply couldn’t rent time for
training. The indoor soccer facilities were dedicated to
hosting indoor games and trying to rent time for training
was next to impossible and if you did get a time, it was
late at night and it cost a lot of money.
Well, our very innovative and creative board of directors
wanted to create an indoor soccer facility for our players
which would be dedicated to training. A place where the
children of our community could learn the technical and
tactical skills of soccer during the cold winter months.
After a relatively quick search, we identified an ideal
space on the 4th floor of an old mill in Fall
River that was exactly what we were looking for. All we
needed to do was purchase some soccer turf, hire a crane to
lift the rolls of turf to the 4th floor through
the window, lay down/install the turf with a bunch of
volunteers, have a carpet installer glue down the seems on
the “cement” floor, purchase a large net to hang on the
ceiling and secure it to the floor so we wouldn’t break any
lights or windows, bring all those volunteers back again to
install the netting and in about 3 months, our players
started training in our very own indoor soccer facility.
When we tell people we have our own Indoor Facility for our
player to train all winter long, everyone is surprised to
hear that a town soccer organization could have this type of
facility. After all, we are not a premier soccer club that
charges a thousand dollars to play. Then when we say it’s
located on the fourth floor of an old factory – they are
again, shocked……But, when they come to visit for the first
time and they open that door after climbing 4 flights of
stairs, they are completely blown away by what they see. An
actual indoor soccer field with no boards, located in a mill
and there are no columns holding up the ceiling.
The Board of Directors are very proud of this facility since
if you haven’t seen it yet, you will be quite impressed. We
have invested a lot of time and money in making this a great
facility for the players of our league. Not many soccer
leagues in this state or country can say that they have an
Indoor Facility for their Players to learn and play the game
of soccer once the weather gets cold.
Our facility is first dedicated to our two SSYSL programs……
Spring Travel Division and to our Winter Indoor
Instructional Program….. These two programs have first
priority to this facility.
However, after these two programs reserve the times that
they need – we then open up our facility for area YOUTH
leagues/premier clubs to rent time for training at our
facility. We rent our facility by the hour and on the hour.
So, if you have a Youth team that you are looking to train,
we more than likely have some time that you can rent.
The cost to rent time at our facility is: Swansea-Somerset
affiliated teams: $40/hr All outside teams or clubs:
$55/hr.

From 195E, Seekonk/Providence:
On 195E (once you enter Massachusetts),
after you cross the Braga Bridge and enter Fall River, immediately
following the City Hall Tunnel take exit #7 - Plymouth Avenue. Please
note that there is one off ramp from the highway for exits #6 & 7 and be
sure to stay to the left on the exit since you want #7.
Proceed to the traffic light and you
want to bear left onto Plymouth Avenue so that you can go back under the
highway.
Just before Burger King, at the Honey
Dew Donuts sign, you will take a right onto Wordell St. Take the next
left which is Front St and you will end up behind Burger King.
On the right is a large mill (old
factory) and this is the building that we are located in. Follow past
the building and in between the mill and the Sherwin Williams Paint
Store is the entrance to the rear parking lot. Pull into this lot and
park in the behind the mill.......As you are driving in you will come to
the end of the stone building and on the rear corner of the building you
will see a set of wooden stairs with a Tan colored awning/roof - this is
the entrance to the facility. We are located on the 4th floor, there is
no elevator.
From 195W.....Rt 24 N/S:
On 195W, take exit #7 -
Plymouth Avenue. At the end of Exit #7 you will want to bear right onto
Plymouth Avenue.
Just before Burger King, at the
